Funded Legal Support Package

Herts Growth Hub have partnered with Better Business for All (BBfA) to offer Hertfordshire businesses with fewer than 50 employees, free legal advice through membership to the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

Eligible businesses that make successful applications will receive a years’ free access to membership support which covers:

  • 24/7 access to a legal advice line including HR advice, health and safety, commercial contracts and tax advice
  • Legal documents, templates and policies available online
  • And many more membership benefits

Building Back Better Growth Programme 

The Building Back Better Growth Programme is a project funded by the UK Community Renewal Fund aimed to help Hertfordshire based SMEs to sustain their recovery and growth following the pandemic, equipping them with the skills and capabilities to develop their sustainable practices, net-zero literacy, and digitalisation. 

Support packages under this programme include:

1-2-1 Mentoring 

Micro businesses looking for support with growth and innovation can benefit from a package of support including 1-2-1 mentoring.

Eligible businesses will receive up to 12 hours of 1-2-1 mentoring from a University of Hertfordshire expert, who will spend time with them to support in reviewing their business plan, help them to set milestones for growth and innovation, and assess training needs.

Consultancy Grant Programme

The Consultancy Grant Programme provides access to a grant scheme that can contribute up to £6,000 (with a 20% match fund contribution) for an improvement project via consultancy support, for SMEs who want to develop their skills and understanding of important topics such as

  • achieving net zero
  • sustainability
  • technology adoption
  • digitalisation

The grant will cover a maximum 80% of the project costs with the SME making a contribution of 20%.

Herts Camera Action

Hertfordshire Growth Hub, in partnership with University of Hertfordshire and Visit Herts, is delivering a package of tailored support to support businesses in Hertfordshire.

Herts Camera Action aims to take advantage of the film and TV studios located in Hertfordshire ensuring that the wider community benefits from these assets.

Support packages under this programme include:

Creative Industries Grant Programme 

Hertfordshire based SMEs can access grants of up to £6,000 (with a 20% match fund contribution). 

Eligible SMEs will undergo an in-depth business diagnostic with a sector specialist adviser, focusing on their capabilities to exploit new opportunities related to the film sector.

Eligible SMEs will also receive up to 12 hours of bespoke academic/technical support.

*This programme is targeted at Hertfordshire based SMEs with less than 250 employees that supply the film and TV production industry, providing access to external consultancy and investment, stimulating innovation, diversification, or capacity building.

Help to Grow Management Hertfordshire will provide a hybrid executive development programme to boost your business’s performance, resilience, and long-term growth.

Help to Grow Management is a ground-breaking ‘all-in-one’ funded support opportunity for SME leaders to grow their business. It pulls together, a specialist team of 20+ SME experts, combining the expertise from Hertfordshire Business School, experienced business mentors and insights from leading entrepreneurs.

The brand-new, SME programme has been nationally designed, built and 90% funded with the latest business thinking, tools and resources but critically, brought to life with emerging best practice, personal stories, live case studies, a peer network and 1-2-1 performance, resilience, and growth planning.

Delivered as a fast-track learning experience, it’s intensively structured over 12 weeks to drive up personal confidence and business capability. With the Hertfordshire team leading you each week through virtual resources, online webinars, action planning workbooks, peer group touchpoints, 1-2-1 mentoring, plus networking case study workshops hosted within the University Enterprise Hub; it’s full-on, uncompromising but focused on achieving results.
