The Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) is a capital grant fund that supports:
- the commercialisation and construction of new low-carbon heat networks (including the supply of cooling)
- the retrofitting and expansion of existing heat networks
It aims to develop and grow the heat network market and to address some of the challenges of decarbonising the UK’s heat sector Grants can cover up to (but not including) 50% of estimated eligible commercialisation and construction costs.
Eligible Technologies include Low and zero-carbon (LZC) sources such as heat pumps, waste heat, solar thermal, and geothermal energy
Eligibility
The GHNF provides capital grant funding to organisations in the public, private and third sectors in England and Wales.
GHNF Round 12 is open for applications and will close on Friday 25 September 2026.
